Senior Accountant (Construction!)

Job Description
Ledgent is partnering with a small Construction company (minority owned) looking to revamp their department and add a Senior Accountant to own the accounting process (start to finish). This role would have growth/advancement into a Controller position.
 
Direct Hire. $70-$90k (D.O.E.). On-site. Minneapolis (outside of "downtown" with its own parking ramp). Flexible schedule (anywhere from 6-6).
 
Must Have Accounting Experience and the owner is willing to train on the rest!
 
Job Duties:
Accounting & Finance (Primary Role - ~75%)
·        Perform full-cycle accounting including AP, AR, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
·        Manage payroll processing and related filings (bi-weekly)
·        Maintain general ledger and chart of accounts in QuickBooks
·        Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports and job costing summaries
·        Track project costs in Procore and reconcile with QuickBooks
·        Work with project managers on budget vs. actuals and WIP reporting
·        Assist with annual budgeting and CPA coordination for year-end taxes
·        Manage subcontractor compliance including W-9s, COIs, and 1099s
Human Resources (~15%)
·        Maintain employee records and manage onboarding/offboarding in BambooHR
·        Administer benefits enrollment, PTO tracking, and employee updates
·        Support compliance with labor laws and internal policies
·        Coordinate employee events and assist with internal communication
IT Coordination (~10%)
·        Serve as point-of-contact for basic IT support and troubleshooting
·        Coordinate with third-party IT provider for hardware/software issues
·        Manage user access for QuickBooks, BambooHR, Procore, and other systems
·        Track and manage company devices and software subscriptions
 
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance (strongly preferred) 
  • 4-5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
  • Construction experience (preferred)
